Adam Clague

Comic-book superheroes comprised the bulk of Adam Clague's portfolio until age twelve, when he tested his skills at realistically rendering a grouping of soda cans. This work, entitled "Pop Art," gained Adam his first art award, a "Best of Show" at the Michigan State Fair. Since then, the challenge of accurately capturing visual reality has fueled Adam's passion for art.

The artist received his training at Pensacola Christian College, where he earned a Masters degree in Fine Arts. While pursuing his degree, Adam taught drawing and painting classes at the college. His own instruction came from master painter Brian Jekel, who gave expert teaching on the skills of representational painting. Today, Adam strives to faithfully depict his subjects while maintaining the intrinsic beauty of his chosen medium.

Adam credits Christ Jesus his Lord for his skills and for the ability to daily pursue art. He gladly directs all the glory for his work and life back to his Savior, who sacrificed everything for him.

Andrea Orr Clague

Traditionally trained at Pensacola Christian College in Florida, Andrea Orr received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Commercial Art in 2006, and a Master of Fine Arts in 2009. While at PCC, Andrea learned the importance of accurate drawing, strong value patterns and variety in edgework– essentials for a successful painting– under the masterful teaching of her mentor and instructor, Brian Jekel.

Andrea Orr's paintings reveal her fascination with light and the beauty it bestows upon seemingly ordinary objects. Andrea credits her talent as a gift from God, and desires to use her art to bring glory to Him. Her desire is that her paintings will connect to the hearts of those who view them, drawing others to a fuller recognition of the goodness of God and the wonder of His love.

Believing that the human eye holds the key to engaging the soul and has the ability to move the heart, Andrea's goal is to communicate a message of hope, love, and beauty to those who see her work.

My work is between reality and expression, contemporary and realism.

I am a late bloomer in painting earnestly even though I painted all my life. I was busy raising a family of 4 children and owned a graphic design company to provide for their support. I am intrigued by color, shape and texture. My paintings develop their own personalities and evolve as I complete them, not knowing how they will turn out. I like to keep the sketchiness and freedom that begins with roughing in a painting.

Sometimes mistakes are the best things about painting. I have learned to paint fast as the speed allows more expression. I do several plein air events per year and enjoy the challenge of selecting subject matter and completing a painting in a few days. Some of my paintings in the past have taken three months to years to complete. When I was a child I aspired to paint the most beautiful painting in the world. Now I aspire to expressing my moods, motions, commentaries and sarcasm while painting like a child.

I am an award winning artist and represented  by River's Bend Gallery in Parkville. MO

My work is in private collections.
